Lee grew up in Pryor, working nights and weekends at the Castle Theatre, the movie palace owned by her parents, Leo and Lydia Thomas. As a young girl, she became popular reciting poems and giving speeches at public events. She graduated from the University of Tulsa, majoring in theater and radio. After college, she helped start the first UHF station in Oklahoma, KTVQ Channel 25, and was given her own interview show, Look ‘N with Lee. She then worked at KVOO as the Women’s Director of the weekday Noon Show.
Her life changed forever when she married Jerry Reeder in 1958, who preceded her in death, November 2017. They had a joyous life raising 4 children. Her love of reading and writing led her to obtain a MA in Creative Writing from UCO. She is survived by her son David and his wife Gayla; son Robert and wife Bridget; daughter Ellen and husband Andy; daughter Rosalind; along with 7 granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.
This link is to a video from her 90th birthday. Lee would be proud to have everyone see it again!
