

Mary Catherine Earley, age 87, of Oklahoma City, passed away from congestive heart failure on Wednesday, January 19, 2011. She now joins her mother, Pauline, her husband, Patrick and her son, Richard who are in the presence of the Lord. Mary Catherine was born November 2, 1923, in Oklahoma City. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Sherman, TX, in 1942. She married Patrick Andrew Earley in June, 1944. She was a devoted stay-at-home mom and was very involved in the activities of her four children. Her husband’s career with Southwestern Bell took them to Shawnee, OK, San Antonio, TX, St. Louis, MO, Kansas City, MO and finally home to Oklahoma City, OK. A widow since 1966, she went to work as a telephone operator for the civil service to support her family. She retired in 1982. She lived an active and independent life focused on her family, friends, community, and church. She had a deep relationship with her Lord and instilled those values in her children. She was an avid reader and had a love for movies, gardening and working crossword puzzles. She leaves a legacy that has touched and will continue to touch many lives. Survivors include her sons, Michael Earley; Timothy Earley and wife Debbie; daughter, Mary Eileen Earley-Tran and husband Danh; sister and brother-in-law Diana and Curtis Ray; sister-in-law, Gae Shepherd; 7 grandchildren; six great grand-children and 3 nieces and 2 nephews. Viewing will be held at Baggerley Funeral home in Edmond, OK on Thursday, January 20 from 4pm to 8pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery Chapel in Oklahoma City on January 21 at 10 am. The family will be receiving visitors at Mary Catherine’s home on January 21 from 12 to 2pm.
