Rian Elizabeth Sanderson

Rian “Rocky” Elizabeth Sanderson, 11, peacefully joined our Heavenly Father on January 30, 2014 after a brief battle with cancer. She had a real passion for life! She attended Sequoyah Middle School where she was a straight A, 6th grade student and a member of Rachel’s Challenge. She loved to attend Switch, the youth program at Life Church. She was a middle blocker for Oklahoma Peak Performance 12 Smack and aspired to play volleyball for OU. She loved OKC Thunder, St. Louis Cardinals, and OU. Besides her extreme passion for volleyball, she loved music and anyone that knew her will tell you that she was always singing. Her love of animals created an early desire to become a veterinarian, however she had since broadened her horizon to the possibility of zoology or marine biology.

Rian is survived by: parents Christy (Edmond), Kristafer and Ann (OKC); brothers Mason (Edmond), Kolten and Randy (OKC); sister Sidney (OKC); grandparents Mary and David Holliday (Edmond), Tracy and Tracy Sanderson (Hinton); uncles Joe Holliday (Edmond), Caleb Sanderson (Hinton) as well as numerous great-grandparents, great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 9:00am to 8:00pm Monday, February 3 at Baggerley Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 4 at 5:00pm at Life Church OKC Campus. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rian Sanderson Memorial via Fundly.com.
