I was lucky to work with Bob on a number of programs and projects at Hertz. Like so many, I developed much respect and admiration for Bob's approach to things. There are still times when I hear a figure of speech or a method to solve a problem will present itself and I'll be reminded of Bob.  Godspeed sir.

Bob Bailey reflected the best values of Hertz, the best values of a leader, the best values of a colleague, and the best qualities of a man you would want to know.  Said succinctly, he was the epitome of a good leader, a good friend, and a good man.  His accomplishments were many and great stories of his career and life are abundantly shared. His influence will live on through those he guided, mentored, touched, and helped.  I am fortunate to have been one of those people.  I think he would expect that we continue our lives with the same sense of integrity and purpose he showed us.  Rest in peace, Bob; you will not be forgotten.

I was RJB's secretary for 15 years at Hertz until he retired.  I fondly remember some of his quips and quotes as well as Hertz stories and events he was part of during his career.   Mr. Bailey was the ultimate professional and confident leader that made Hertz OKC successful.  I am honored and proud to have known RJB.  My thoughts and prayers are with Barbara and the Bailey family.

Bob and I worked together at Hertz during the '70's decade. I worked with him and for my last two and a half years with the company, I worked for him. The entire time together was my pleasure and being friends with Bob and Barbara was a wonderful time in my life. After I left Hertz, we remained good friends and constant email companions and we managed to get together a few times since, until I last saw him in August of 2003. 
I know Bob is in a better place now and I can say that with conviction simply because he was a very good man. 
I pray that Barbara and Bob's children will be aided by the grace of God to get through these tough times. I will greatly miss my friend, colleague, and mentor until we meet again in heaven.   God bless you and your wonderful family.            Ken MacKay

I am one of the many Hertz colleagues who benefitted from my professional relationship with Bob. We were associates in one way or another for 34 years. He was the consummate professional who provided pearls of wisdom that helped those around him be better managers and more importantly better people. I never observed him raise his voice or treat a subordinate disrespectfully. He had a “poker face” that worked well in the boardroom and in the card games he loved to play. Rest In Peace Bob. I extend my deep felt condolences to Barbara and the rest of the family.

I first met Bob February 1970  where we began working together at Hertz. He was one of the best individuals I ever had the honor to call a true friend. Our friendship continued for the next 52 years. He will be missed. May God Bless and keep him and give Barbara the strength to carry on.

My sincere condolences to Barbara and the rest of his family.  Bob was a great influence on me and so many others who worked with, and for him, over the years at Hertz.  He always maintained the highest level of integrity, even during the toughest of times.  A quick mind with a great sense of humor.  He was a firm believer in ATD (Attention to Details).  Thanks Bob, for the many lessons learned.  Rest In Peace.  

Bob was a great teacher to me.  Always took a very practical approach to any work decisions.  He was very particular about written communication and  once gave me a piece of advice I've continued to use to this day:   Effective written communication is writing to be understood, it's writing not to be misunderstood.  

He was a steady hand, supporter, and encourager.  I'm a better manager for having worked with and for him.

My heart goes out to the family.  He was my boss, friend, and best tennis partner.   I will always treasure the time we had on and off the tennis court.  May he rest in peace.   Richard Garrison
