

Robert W. “Bob” Hayden, 80, of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026. To James E. and Rose E. Hayden, Bob was born on September 25, 1945, in Covington, Kentucky. Bob spent his first five years in Cincinnati, OH, and then moved with his parents to Detroit, MI, where he resided until moving to Edmond in 1984. After graduating from Roseville High School, Bob attended Wayne State University and Michigan University and received his law degree from the Detroit College of Law.
After practicing law in Detroit, Bob found his way to Oklahoma in 1984 where he practiced law with Buck, Merrit, and Rooney and in 1988 joined the law firm of Speck and Easter, both in Oklahoma City, and retired from his law firm of Speck and Hayden.
Outside of his law practice, Bob’s passion of golf took him to the Kickingbird Golf Course in Edmond, where he met his wife, Beverly S. Swanson. They married in 1992, and have resided in Edmond during their marriage.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Rose Hayden, his father and mother in-law, JC and Mary Alice Swanson, and aunts and uncles, and is survived by his wife, Beverly Hayden, his brother-in-law, Charles Allen “Al” Swanson, and many cousins.
In lieu of flowers should one choose, Bob, having been a young caddie himself, would be heartened by a donation to the Evans Scholars Foundation through the Western Golf Association, 2501 Patriot Boulevard, Glenview, IL, 60026-8022.
Funeral services for Bob will be Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 11:00 AM at First Christian Church Edmond, 201 East 2nd Street, Edmond, OK 73034. Interment will follow to Gracelawn Cemetery, Edmond, OK.
