

Roberta Lou Roberts was born in Ringwood, OK, on June 27, 1928, to Charles E. Newton and Alice (Devine) Newton. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 10, 2025. She attended the Englewood Country School (grades 1-8) and in 1946 graduated from Enid High School. She continued her education at NWOSU in Alva.
Roberta worked as a dental assistant for five years in Woodward where she met her future husband Merton. In 1951 they were united in marriage and moved to the family ranch SE of Quinlan. To this marriage three daughters were born: Ramona, Merlene, and Susan.
They purchased the Seiling Livestock Association in 1963, where they made their home until 1979. While continuing to operate the Seiling Livestock Auction they also purchased the Woodward Livestock Auction with the intent of improving the cattle industry in NW Oklahoma.
Roberta loved her Sunday school classes and was very involved in each of her churches. She especially loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting, music, and other events they were involved with. She loved playing cards and games with family and friends. Some other activities included P.E.O., volunteering at the hospital and public schools, knitting, reading, puzzles, and watching football and basketball.
Roberta loved cooking for family and friends. She had a servant’s heart and was a blessing to many people. She will be dearly missed.
Roberta was preceded in death by her father and mother, Charles and Alice, stepmother Jenny Newton, her husband Merton Roberts, three brothers Russell, James, and Charles Newton, and three sisters Opal Oringderff, Velma Dyer, and Ann Hague.
She is survived by three daughters Ramona and John Cummings of Edmond, Merlene and Morris Feigel of Edmond, and Susan and Pat Zimmerman of Stillwater, three grandsons Blake and Sydney Zimmerman of Tulsa, Parker and Katie Zimmerman of Wichita, KS, and Brooks and Claire Zimmerman of Dallas, TX, two granddaughters Molly and Andrew Daniels of Rogers, AR, and Connor Cummings of Oklahoma City, OK, four great granddaughters Rose, Joy, Annie, and Hope, three great grandsons Parks, Knox, and Drew. One sister in-law, Clara Newton of Anthony, Kansas. She also has many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A celebration of life reception for Roberta will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 South Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034.
