Terry Johnston, 73, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2024, one day after celebrating her birthday. Born October 14, 1951, in Oklahoma City, she was a lifelong Sooner fan with a deep love for OU football and softball. Terry graduated from Putnam City High School in 1969 and went on to earn her degree from Central State University.
She worked for many years as a legal assistant at McClure Law Firm, where her sharp mind and attention to detail were invaluable. Beyond her career, Terry devoted herself to her community, serving as Vice President of the House Corporation for Phi Mu at Oklahoma State University and representing Phi Mu as the Oklahoma City Panhellenic delegate.
Terry’s life was marked by her infectious personality, vivacious humor, and steadfast loyalty to her friends and loved ones. Her presence filled every room with warmth and laughter, and she will be remembered for her ability to lift the spirits of everyone around her. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Kelsey, and a proud grandmother to her grandson, Rhett, who were the lights of her life.
Terry married Mike Johnston in 1974, though their paths diverged seven years later. Her true legacy is the joy she brought to the people she touched in her personal and professional life.
Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She leaves behind her daughter Kelsey Nuckolls and son in law David, grandson Rhett (10), her sister Vicki Wooldridge, and countless friends and family members whose lives were brighter because of her.
A memorial service for Terry will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 South Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034.
