

Mr. Tommie Harrell McClure, 76 of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away at home, January 30, 2018. Tommie was born May 27th, 1941 to Ben and Naomi McClure (Wilson) in Chickasha, Oklahoma. A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday Feb. 6th at 2p.m. at Baggerly Funeral home in Edmond. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Edmond. Visitation will be Tuesday up until the time of the services.
After graduation from technical college in Louisiana, Tommie spent his career as an engineer working at radio stations and TV stations in Louisiana, Nebraska and Oklahoma. Finishing his career as the chief engineer at Channel9 in OKC and then the University of Central Oklahoma. From the time he was a young teenager, Tommie dabbled in electronics and got interested in ham radio at an early age with a hobby that stayed with him throughout his life. He had ham radio friends around the world and was acknowledged by the US Air Force for his work following a hurricane in Louisiana by providing communication when the phone line communications went down. He loved his flowers, his grandchildren and building computers from spare parts.
Tommie was preceded in death by his wife Jane McClure (Bourque), father Ben McClue, son,Sean Dempsey, Tommie will be sadly missed by his mother, Naomi McClure, his daughters, Tammie McClure, Renee” Evans, Alicia Dolesy, 2 sons, Tommie McClure, Jr. and Kenneth Kobe, sisters Donna McClure and Anita Babineaux along with 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
