Mrs. Aurela Rebus

December 8, 1922 – September 11, 2017

It is with great sadness but many cherished memories that we announce the peaceful death of Aurela Rebus of Edmonton at the age of 94 years.

Aurela was predeceased by her husband of over 41 years, Carl Rebus; her parents, August and Anna Orzechowski; infant daughter, Elizabeth; brother, Zigfreid Orzel: and her husband of 21 years, Emil Hyrciw. She is survived by her Rebus children, Bob (Joyce), Don (Christina), Christine (Kent) Winterfield, Violet (Michael) Tilleard, Camille (Rick) Ross; her grandchildren, David Rebus, James Rebus, Viviane Rebus, Charmion Whyte, Matthew Rebus, Keira Rebus, Lana Winterfield, Craig Winterfield, Sarah Tilleard; step-grandchildren, Melanie (Todd) and Kevin Ross; three great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; her Hryciw stepchildren, Ken, Margot (Phil) Taylor, Rob (Teresa), Wayne (Kelly), Maureen Raboud (Thomas Braacx), Elaine (John) Paton, and Neil (Sue); step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the exceptional long term and palliative care Aurela received in her final years by care givers and nurses from Devonshire Care Centre.

Funeral Mass Friday, September 22 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, 7508 – 29 Ave. Edmonton with Reverend Patrick Baska officiating. A interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Alzheimer Society or a charity of your choice.
