Carrie Alice Svendsen

Carrie Alice (Morgan) Svendsen, our mom and granny, passed away on September 24, 2025, at the age of 93. Granny (her favorite title) was born November 8, 1931, in Guysborough, Nova Scotia and was the most unique, beautiful, fun and loving person. She will be remembered for her endless and expansive love, and her devotion to her family and friends. Granny loved teaching and of all the varied jobs she had throughout her lifetime, teaching was her favorite and most natural - she was always teaching. Granny was creative through landscaping, gardening, crocheting, knitting, sewing, painting (houses, ornaments, portraits), petit point embroidery, renovations, and so much more. She loved horses and dogs too.

Granny is survived by her loving companion and husband of 69 years, Jens Curt, sons: Curt and David, daughters: Darlene (Gord Aitken), Colleen (Greg) Adams, Shari-Lynn, and Sharman (Jim Laroche), grandchildren: Kyle, Jordyn (Andrew) Darville, Charlee, Jens (Taylor Fergel), Morgan, Matthew, great grandchildren: Ryleigh, McKenna, Kamryn, and Chevy, and sisters-in-law: Helga, Norma-Jean and Win and brother-in-law, Robert (Noel) Rasmussen.

Carrie was predeceased by her mom, Alice Janet (Cousins) Morgan, dad, William Henry Morgan, sister, (Elizabeth) Mae (Bob) Goff, brothers: Chuck, John (Bertha), Doug (Marion), Ed (Fran), Joe (Millie), Clyde (Mary), Clint (Peggy), and (Willard) Clair, brothers-in-law, Gunnar, Svend, Aksel, and Don Boker, and son-in-law, Dwayne Lane.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held in Edmonton on October 11, 2025. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice that supports our fellow man.
