It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dougald Leslie MacCrimmon, on July 1st 2025, at the age of 77. Les was born to Dougald J. and Mary MacCrimmon in Edmonton, Alberta on November 21st, 1947. He spent time in his youth and later in his life alongside Doug's extended family in Plenty, Saskatchewan, as well as Mary's family in Alberta and Saskatchewan, making cherished memories. Having graduated from the University of Alberta in 1973, Les worked for 43 years as a principal mechanical engineer, mostly with Colt, Cosyn, and WorleyParsons, until his retirement in 2016. Les enjoyed biking in the Okanagan and camping in Jasper during the summer. He loved muscle cars, rock music, and coaching his sons' minor hockey teams. A proud season ticket holder for the Edmonton Elks since 1976, Les was also an avid fan of the Edmonton Oilers since their inception. Les is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pat, his sons Kyle and Mark, his sister-in-law Barbara, cousins, nieces, grand-niece, and nephews. A celebration of Les' life will be held at Hainstock's Funeral Home on July 25, 2025, at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Les' memory may be made to the United Way, or a charity of your choice.
