Doug’s favorite activities were biking, camping, paddle boarding, and cross-country skiing, and he shared his love for the outdoors with those around him. For four decades, Doug was an avid programmer and enjoyed developing software personally and professionally. He was especially proud to have co-created the strategy game Assideum and encouraged young minds by organizing school tournaments.
Doug is survived by his wife Denise, children Leanne, Alexandra, and Kathleen, grandchildren Logan and Zackary, father Victor, and sister Denise, and was predeceased by his mother Bess.
In accordance with his wishes, please do not send flowers; donations in his memory may be made to the Cross Cancer, Royal Alexandra Hospital, or Parks Canada. Doug’s warmth, creativity, and adventurous spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
