Erick Schiltz

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Erick William Scott Schiltz who passed peacefully at home on September 27th. Erick was born on February 1st, 1998, to Karen and Justin Schiltz in Edmonton, Alberta little brother to Austin and big brother to Tommy, Gillian, Cameron and Gabriel. Erick had a generous soul with strong convictions and a quirky sense of humor. Erick, gave his heart to God and was generous to all whom he met. Erick loved his family deeply and always made sure that no one left without a hug and an "I love you!" After graduating from McNally High School in 2016, Erick met the love of his life, Nicola Jansen. Erick and Nicola shared a deep faith in Christ and were excitedly planning their future. Their families and friends were elated with the prospect of their new life together. Although we only had Erick for a short while, he left an indelible mark. An accomplished carpenter and handy mechanic, he was always there to lend a hand with his expertise for anyone who needed it. From the time he was little he loved to build things. He had a great work ethic and never shied away from difficult tasks. Erick loved hunting, fishing, hiking, rugby and football. He was an avid outdoorsman and commanding athlete. We are infinitely grateful for the knowledge, laughter and joy that he brought into every facet of his life and into ours, knowing that he has left a piece of himself in everyone that he touched. Numerous aunties, uncles, cousins, grandparents and friends mourn his passing deeply. A funeral service for Erick will be held Sunday, October 9, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Hainstock's Funeral Home & Crematorium, 9810 34th Ave, Edmonton, AB.
