Estrella Tan Ang

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Estrella Ang, aged 92 of Edmonton AB. She passed peacefully in her home. Estrella moved to Canada from the Philippines, settling in Edmonton where she built a beautiful home of her dreams.

Estrella led a long and active life filled with family and friends who experienced her pastry skills, her love and patience as a mother and her love and care as a sister to numerous siblings. Her acumen in business created University Cakes and Bakes in Manila, which was an example of hard work and imagination. Estrella had a sense of curiosity and a very active mind. Everyone felt at home in her company. She loved to swim and would attend the Y for aquacise class later in life with her sister Teri. Also important to her was reading cookbooks and socializing.

Estrella is survived by her beloved daughter, Dr. Chrizette Ang, her siblings, Dr. Alfonso Tan, her sisters, Virginia Khouw and Asuncion Tan, Teresita Tan,her sister Carolina Koe and, her brother Stevenson Tan, who was at her side over the last few years providing loving company and care for his sister. Estrella was preceded in death by her husband Tewan Ang.

As per Estrella’s wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no service.
