Born August 23, 1945, Gene’s memory will be remembered by his two daughters, Melanie and Amy, two sisters, Lavina and Joyce, numerous cousins, nieces, friends and acquaintances. He was predeceased by his precious and loving wife Donna in 1997, his father Harry in 2001, and his mother Julia in 1979.
Gene completed high school in Holden, Alberta following which he completed the Alberta Chartered Accountant’s course of instruction and worked as a Chartered Accountant until he was required to cease working in 1992 due to complications caused by the MS illness. A special thank you is extended to neurologist Dr. Kenneth Warren who cared for Gene throughout the course of his illness at the University of Alberta.
Gene was vivacious, loved life, was immensely grateful for every blessing bestowed upon him, especially his children, had a very heavy heart for burdens and sorrows of this world, was profoundly hopeful that all who had not experienced the love of Jesus in their hearts would somehow come to know that joy. His wish was that divine discretion be imparted to all who may be in need of it.
By Gene’s request, there will be no service. Readers are requested to exhibit love and affection to all with whom they come in contact.
Interment will take place at Westlawn Memorial Gardens, 10132 – 163 Street, Edmonton, Alberta, T5P 4X3 on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at 10:00 am.
God’s blessings to all!
