We are sad to announce the passing of Gurpiari Singh on May 1, 2019 at the age of 80. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Jagdish Johal; nieces, Jessie Passi and Purmjit Johal; nephews, Jagdip Johal and Kulwinder Johal; and grand nephews, Ajay Passi, Amin Passi, and Zayden Johal.
Mrs. Singh was born and raised in Jandiala, Punjab. She immigrated to Canada in January of 1969 to re-unite with her cousin Jasvir Khooner. Later that same year, Mrs. Singh married Karnail Singh. Their marriage of 23 years was cut short in 1992 when he passed away.
Funeral services for Mrs. Singh will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Hainstock’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, 9810-34 Ave, Edmonton, AB at 1:00 PM. Gurudwara services will follow at ‘Siri Guru Singh Sabha’ at 4504 Mill Woods Road S.
