Ida Maud Duncan

Ida lived her years as a faithful and loving wife, sister, mother, and friend. She will be remembered for her genuine compassion and her lasting impact of kindheartedness towards the community. 18 years ago, she was predeceased by her husband of 46 years Richard Duncan and four children. Sadly, in her transition to glory she left behind her son, Howard Duncan and her 5 daughters Angela, Verona, Junie, Jacqueline (Donna), Althea and their spouses whom she took for her own children, Yvette, Wilburn, Leo, Reg, and Dalton. She also leaves behind 20 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Ida Duncan was a remarkable mother figure in her church and in her community with most who crossed paths with her calling her “Mama” despite knowing her shortly. She genuinely loved every person she came across and that love will transcend through time. Faith was a particularly important part of her life as she was a prominent member and mother to the First Lady of Beulah Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic. She purposefully led her family as a woman of faith and taught them to trust in God.

“Mama” will never be forgotten, her bright smile, kind heart, giving spirit will live in our hearts forever. Although she is no longer with us, we carry on her legacy. We know she sits with our heavenly father in His kingdom until that great day.
