

Jake is survived by his children: Lori (Randy), Sharon (David), Jeffrey (Tracey), Wayne (Kathy), Danny (Crystal), Mike (Brenda), and Joanne (Chad). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Adrian (Wendy), Liana (Phillip), Ryan (Darcia), Ashley (Nathan), Chandra, Brandon, Meagan (Greg), Cameron, Alex (Shelby), Nick, Jacob, and Zachary (Meghan), and a cherished great-grandfather to Makena, Lauren, Gwen, Shea, Anne, Emma, Hayleigh, and Logan.
He was predeceased by his wife Justine (Chris) and his second wife Barbara. Jake was the eighth child born in his family and the last of his siblings to pass. He was predeceased by Heinrich (Annie), Helen (Norman), Agatha (Isaak), David (Lena), Isaac (Margaret) (Susan), Cornelius (Helen), Aron (Elsie), Abraham (Marie), Johan (Phyllis), Susanna (Charlie), and Katharina (Herb) (Bud).
Family meant everything to Dad, and he was incredibly proud of each and every one of them. Jake spent his entire adult life in Alberta. He was a passionate sports fan who cheered loudly and proudly for the Edmonton Oilers, the Toronto Blue Jays, and his beloved Saskatchewan Roughriders.
In recent years, Jake lived independently at the Good Shepherd in Edmonton. Only recently was he admitted to hospital, and he was later moved to Eaux Claire, where he passed away peacefully the same day.
A celebration of Jake's life will be held at Memories Funeral Home, 13403 St. Albert Trail Edmonton, AB on Monday, March 16th, 2026 at 2:00pm. Cremation entrusted to Memories Funeral Home.
