With broken hearts we announce the passing of our Mum and Gran, Jane Percy, on January 6th, 2020 at the age of 80 with her faithful puppy, Rudy, by her side. Jane will be deeply missed by her children David (Leslie) Percy, Susan (Lee) Cameron, Dr. Jennifer (Ken) Riess and her beloved grandchildren Toby, Isaac, Cooper, Jack, and Casey. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law David (Tikker) Percy and their children Matthew, Sarah and their families.
Jane was born in South Shields, England to Albert and Jenny Carter on May 1st, 1939. Jane was an exceptional student and attended the University of London and received a degree in Math with Honours. She met and married Dr. John Percy and together they left for North America and eventually settled in Edmonton. Her greatest passions were her horses and dogs. After retiring from her career in Information Systems for Alberta Health, she spent countless hours volunteering for the Edmonton Humane Society and Pet Therapy Society. In Jane’s words: I loved my family and animals. I missed the sea but learned to love the mountains. My children and grandchildren are my greatest joy. I have had a great life and it is up to you all to keep my memory alive in your hearts. I could be watching over you… You never know!
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, January 12th, 2020 from 2 to 4:30pm at the Derrick Club, 3500-119 St. NW, Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Edmonton Humane Society or the Pet Therapy Society.
