Jose Santos Rotea Jr.

April 10, 1948 – March 16, 2026

Known for his generous spirit, infectious laughter, and gentle heart, the family of Jose announces that he passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, surrounded by family.

Jose was born in Manila, Philippines. He was the sixth of eight children and was affectionately called “Jr.” by his family.

He is survived by his wife, Madencia; children, Madonna (Brian), Marvin (Maya), Mark, and Marjohn (Teran); grandchildren, Quentin, Nathaniel, Emma, Kai, Ashton, Ligaya, and Alexa; and siblings, Virgilio, Ernesto, Lamberto, and Belen.

Jose was predeceased by his parents, Jose Sr. and Marta; and siblings, Norma, Angel, and Rodolfo.

Jose worked in Saudi Arabia for 15 years before migrating to Canada in 1995. His devotion as a hardworking and resilient father ensured that his family was well taken care of.

He loved telling stories, tinkering with things, and was an avid reader. His wisdom, guidance, and unconditional love will be deeply missed.

The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Joseph Auxiliary Hospital and the Dr. Gerald Zetter Care Centre for their compassionate care and support.
