It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Larry Metro Hlushak on January 6, 2022 at the age of 77 years. Larry is lovingly remembered by his wife Wendy; children Curtis (Trina), Chris (Jaclyn), Lindsay (Sheldon); grandchildren Peter, Samantha, Zoe, Hailey, Olivia, Hannah; and extended family and friends. Larry was predeceased by his first wife and mother of his children, Shirley.
While Larry was born and raised in Edmonton, most of his adult life was spent in Spruce Grove. He could often be found at the local hockey rink, baseball diamonds and golf course. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and took great pride in being an educator and mentor to many throughout his career with the Evergreen Catholic School Division.
Larry wished to have a small private service in his honour with his family in attendance. A larger celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2022. Our family would like to thank those at the Norwood Capital Care for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, if you wish to make a donation, please do so in his memory to the Cross Cancer Institute.
