Linda Margaret Sittler

Linda Margaret Sittler, our beloved wife and mom, passed away on September 27, 2023, at home with her husband Barry, and children Jeff and Lisa by her side after coping for more than two years with complications from heart disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Linda is also survived by her mother Madeline Szcinski, daughter-in-law Aynour Salama, siblings Jeannette Onischuk, Ron Sczinski (Marilyn), Sharon Chrapko (Rod), Charlotte Zoller (Jerome), Sharon McMaster, Bill Sittler (Patty), Blair Sittler (Terri), Bernie Wangler (Brock), Bruce Sittler (Aisan), as well as, her many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Linda was predeceased by her father Adam Szcinski, mother and father-in-law Geraldine and Norbert Sittler, and brothers-in-law John Onischuk, Doug Sittler, and Gus McMaster.

Linda worked with the Edmonton Catholic School District for 25 years, where her work brought her joy, friendship, and purpose. In her spare time Linda was an avid reader and loved to holiday in the Mayan Riviera. She took great pleasure in playing marathon card games with her mother and sisters at family gatherings.

We will always remember Linda for the kindness, love, and support she gave to us.

We are grateful to the Edmonton Fire Rescue Services and Alberta Health Services personnel who worked so hard to try and save her life.

Instead of flowers for the family, donations in Linda’s name to the Alberta Cancer Foundation or Edmonton Humane Society are appreciated.

A private memorial is planned for immediate family.
