Margaret Elizabeth Lloyd

It is with sadness and heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Betty Lloyd due to complications from kidney failure on January 2, 2016 at 90 years of age surrounded by family.

She was predeceased by the love of her life and husband of 55 years, Dennis Richard, on August 27, 2003; her 3 sisters, Eileen, Maisie and Essie; and her brothers, Jack, Billy and Jordy.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Richard (Donna) and Robert (Connie); daughter, Jennifer; grandchildren, Christopher (fiancée Laura), Kaitlin, Robbie, and Pamela; brother-in-law, Bill Lloyd; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to her family doctor, Dr. A. Adebayo, Dr. Douglas Duke at the North East Medical Centre, and Dr. Vijay and her wonderful caregivers staff at the University of Alberta Hospital – Unit 5E2 for their compassionate care and for making her final days so peaceful. We are eternally grateful.

As per Betty’s wishes, cremation has taken place and to honour her wishes, there will be no service. Due to her great love of animals, and in lieu of flowers, donations in her honour may be made to The Edmonton Humane Society.
