

On February 3, 2018, Mary Harrish (nee Drobocki) of Calmar passed away peacefully at the age of 88 with the love of her family at her side. She will be fondly remembered by her five children, Yvonne, David (Bernadette), Kenneth (Della), Patricia, and Dennis (Marianne); her eight grandchildren, Judy (Darren), Sylvia (Greg), Shondra (Bill), Curtis (Michelle), Ryan, Jessica, Nicole and Sydney; and eight great children, Rianne, Ciara, Haley, Taylor, Megan, Nicholas, Jayce, and Nate; plus numerous relatives and friends. Mary was predeceased by her husband Arthur Harrish, her parents, Maksym and Martha Drobocki, parents-in-law John and Annie Harrish, and her son-in-law Victor Boekee.
Mary loved to spend time with her family and was a dedicated member of her church. She took great pride in her farm, especially her garden.
Heartfelt thank you to Dr. Grant Davies and Dr. Nhung Tran-Davies for all their wonderful care, and to all the nurses and staff of Devon Community Hospital (Long Term Care). Also, a sincere thank you to Father Benny Ambrosie for his many visitations and prayers.
Prayer Service will be held Friday, February 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Hainstock’s Funeral Home (9810-34th Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta). Funeral Liturgy will be held Saturday, February 10 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Parish (2 miles west of Calmar, Alberta) with Reverend Father Benny Ambrosie officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers or other tributes, donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Calmar or the Devon Hospital Foundation.
