Mike Romano

Mike Romano, born December 17, 1933 passed away peacefully at home on January 31, 2025, leaving behind his wife of 64 years, Eileen Romano, his children, Dawna Gayle (Ben) Sasewich, David (Kim) Romano, Darryl (Crystal) Romano; Grandchildren, Robyn, Vanessa, Nichole (Cory), Ryan (Shelby), Lindsay (Sean), Nash, Reece, Tanner and Cole; his great-grandchildren, Paisley, Emily, and Jaxen.

Mike was predeceased by his granddaughter Brooke Romano in 1997, son Mikey Romano in 2017 and Brother Fred in 2019.

Mike was born in Wildwood Alberta, a little brother for Fred, Mary Wakal and Anne Martin. He was so loved by his brother and sisters.

Mike has had many professions and was a ‘jack of all trades’

-Owner & operator of Household Movers and Distributors

-Manager of Edmonton Golf & Country Club

-Owner & operator Cromwell Furniture

-Pre retirement job at the City of Edmonton, Cemeteries.

His boys played hockey, and he travelled across the country to watch, never missing a game. He even invested in a skate sharpening machine and spent his evenings sharpening skates for the whole team.

He loved camping, fishing, hunting and travelling. His favourite place to visit was Mexico, where he would lay and soak up the sun all day! Mike has received numerous awards throughout the years for his volunteer work within the Community.

Mike was a very thoughtful, generous and giving man. His family he loved with all of his heart.
