Monty Williamson

On November 6, 1949 Monty Williamson, (Edward Montgomery Williamson) was born to Edward Kenneth and Joyce Williamson in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He passed peacefully away in his sleep on April 15, 2026. He was 76 years old.

He will be greatly missed as leaves behind his beloved wife Lori, his two brothers; Terry(Noreen) and Mark; his four children; Chad(Christine), Joel(Leny), Jesse(April) and Kristy(Jason); and nine grandchildren; Jennah, Mikayla, Davina, Michael, Eric, Lewis, Mason, Samantha and Trace. Including all of the people Monty adopted along the way into his family.

Monty touched many people during his life with his love and generosity. His transition from this life to the next was sudden and he accomplished many things with his time. He worked at a number of power plants throughout Alberta including Joffre plant, the Forestburg Generating Station, and Edmonton Power plants; Cloverbar, Genesee and Rossdale. He finished his career helping Canadian Natural Resources Ltd build their oilsands facility in Fort McMurray.

Monty’s life was enriched by his deep faith in Jesus Christ and enjoyed sharing his experiences and beliefs with everyone he encountered. He was quick to offer help when he saw a need and often talked about an everlasting life in heaven. During his life he took great joy in running, he was always training for a marathon. In swimming outside preferably, any lake, river or ocean, as they were always the best places. He was willing to go for a drive, and would instigate a trip wherever he was needed or wanted. And exploring the outdoors, going for a walk or travelling across the country to see as much of the world as possible. Monty lived a life of service to the Lord and to his family; he would go where he could do the most good.
