Morley passed away at the age of 75 years with his loving wife of 55 years Carol at his side. He is predeceased by his parents John Angelo and Julia Angelo (nee Sereda) and his 4 siblings John Angelo, Emil Angelo, Victoria Melysh (nee Angelo) and Julie Christopher (nee Angelo). Left to remember Morley is his wife Carol, Son Vince and wife Corry as well as 4 grandchildren Erica, Evan, Travis and Jacob.
Morley was the youngest of 5 children born to pioneering Ukrainian parents who emigrated to Canada from Poland in the early 1900’s and settled in the Drumheller area, specifically Newcastle. The Angelo family left an indelible mark on the area with a home that is still standing to this day and by serving as employees of the Atlas Mine and various other local businesses. Morley left the Drumheller area in the Mid 1960’s to pursue his fortunes and it was in Calgary where he met and wed his wife Carol.
Having a young family in the early 60’s presented its amount of challenges for employment and Morley moved to different parts of Alberta in search of secure and meaningful work, finally settling in Edmonton. In Edmonton he found many positions in which he excelled at and was always moving forward to further his education. He attended N.A.I.T. on 2 occasions and received professional trade certification as a barber and then later as a Power Engineer and HVAC technician. His latter career was the one that truly defined his professional life. As a power engineer and building operator Morley helped run some of Edmonton’s most well known landmarks such as Edmonton Center, The Boardwalk Mews, Palm Dairies , West Edmonton Mall , The Cross Cancer institute and the Chrysalis Foundation.
Morley took great pride in his home of 42 years on the North end of Edmonton and with his wife Carol made it stand out in the community through diligent maintenance and renovations. He also showed great pride in his Son and his family and would be in attendance for many milestone events. His true love though, was for wife Carol, who over their 55 years together was by his side for his successes and equally so during challenging times. She returned this love unconditionally and stood by his side as he battled declining health in his final years.
A celebration of Morley’s life will be held at a later date, when family and friends can gather safely.
