Nickolas Gregory Stratulate

Nickolas Gregory Stratulate, 88, of Sherwood Park, died Friday, June 14, 2013.

He was born to the late Theodore and Zanovia Stratulate, November 9, 1924, in a homestead near Lakenheath, Saskatchewan. Nick married JoHanna Mary Stinn in 1955, and they lived together in Valleyview, Didsbury, Fox Creek, Rocky Mountain House, Blackfalds and finally Sherwood Park, Alberta. Nick spent his entire career in the Petroleum industry, working for Bawden Drilling, Canadian Superior, Matheus Engineering, and would later consult for Hazen & Babb, Nor Chief Engineering and Mobil Canada.

Nick had an infectious laugh and enjoyed his family above all else. Straight-forward, hard-wording and honest were terms friends and family often used to describe him. In his early adult life, he had a deep love of baseball, but it was golf that would become his life-long passion.

Nick is survived by his wife, JoHanna; four children, Gary Stratulate (Farnoush Forotan), Allen Stratulate (Tanya Cinnamon), Lynda (Brad) Melech, Renee (William Schweickert) Stratulate; grandchildren, Alyssa Schweickert, Nicole Melech, Jaden Melech, Cole Stratulate and Lauren Cinnamon-Colley. Nick is also survived by his brother-in-law, Bernard (Eva) Stinn; as well as many other family members and special friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Parkinson Society Canada.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. (with viewing one hour prior to service) at Hainstock’s Funeral Home, 9810 – 34 Avenue, Edmonton. Interment to follow at Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Sherwood Park, AB.
