Patrick Devlin

It is with the deepest sadness & sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Patrick (Pat) Devlin. Pat was a loving husband, father, brother, son and devoted grandfather who took his final journey, surrounded by his loving family, on July 27, 2023.

Pat is survived by his wife Sandra, son Christopher, daughter Nicola & grandson Marcus. Twin sister Betty Wilkins (Bill) in USA, brothers David Devlin (Kathleen) & Tommy Devlin (Maria) & sister Mary Devlin and numerous nieces and nephews in Scotland.

Predeceased by his parents, James and Mary Devlin.

Pat was born in Greenock, Scotland. He lived in South Africa, then returned to Scotland before immigrating to Canada where he built a life for his family as a machinist. In his younger years Pat was part of the Greenock Glenpark Harriers running club.

His ability to make the small connections ensured he always had time for everyone, whether from the sunny sidelines of the pitch or the chilly redline seats of the rink. Once you met him, he never missed saying hello anytime your paths crossed.

Heartfelt thanks to all the staff at the University of Alberta Hospital Emergency Department and Neuro Intensive Care Unit for their compassionate, kind and comforting support for Pat and his family.

During this time of sorrow think of Pat's infectious smile and playful personality that always brightened our day. He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends.
