at the age of 71.
Paulette is lovingly remembered by her identical twin Pauline; siblings Albert, Roger, Patrick, Rene, Noel, Alice, Rose, Alec, Jerry, and her son, Primo Furlan of Penticton BC. Paulette will also be dearly missed by her many nephews, nieces, extended church family and friends.
Paulette was predeceased by her mother Irene, father Francois, and brother Maurice.
Born in Westlock, AB, Paulette was the younger of identical twins with her sister Pauline. Paulette grew up on the family farm in Pickardville, AB. The twins shared a room, a bed, and many firsts. She learned to ride a horse, sew, do crafts, and how to haggle with her twin sister over the best hand me downs from their older sister Alice.
As children do, the twins grew up and went on their separate paths. Paulette moved to Penticton BC and married. Occasional visits and frequent letters marked this time of Paulette’s life, while she raised her son Primo Furlan. Eventually, Paulette moved to Edmonton, where she was able to spend more time with her large extended family. In these years Paulette enjoyed activities with friends and her church family. She enjoyed writing and receiving letters, talking (and doing) crafts & adult colouring with her twin Pauline. In her final years, Paulette never lost sight of the importance of family and friends. Paulette ensured that she had frequent communication with as many of them as possible. Paulette and Pauline shared their last call together on April 24, 2021.
Paulette’s family and friends would like to thank the healthcare professionals at Edmonton General Continuing Care Center for their exceptional care and kindness. We know their tireless efforts through 2020 and beyond made Paulette’s final years the best they could possibly be.
There will be a celebration of Paulette’s life at a date to be determined, after the COVID19 pandemic restrictions are eased.
