It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Peter Im, a beloved son, brother, and uncle at the age of 34.
He was born in Edmonton, Alberta on June 4, 1991. He was the youngest of five children born to Prim and Chhorn.
He was someone who lived quietly and simply, never asking for much and never needing to be the centre of attention. Low-maintenance by nature, he found comfort in his own space and was happiest in the calm of solitude. Yet when he was needed, he was always there—steady, dependable, and without hesitation. To his family, he was the son and brother who never said no, always willing to help in his own quiet, unwavering way.
He had a love for life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed all kinds of food and took comfort in the familiar joy of a good meal. Gaming was one of his favourite pastimes, a place where he could relax, focus, and be himself. Though he was introverted and sometimes awkward in social settings, those who knew him understood the warmth behind his constant grin—a gentle, genuine presence that spoke louder than words.
He was not one to argue or create conflict. Instead, he moved through life with a quiet kindness, leaving an impression not through grand gestures, but through consistency, loyalty, and a soft, steady spirit.
He will be deeply missed by his family who knew they could always count on him. His absence leaves a silence that cannot be filled, but his memory will live on in the small, meaningful ways he showed up for the people he loved.
He is survived by his parents, Prim and Chhorn; his brother, Pheng; his sisters, Sokha, Sokhea, Sokhom; sister-in-law, Sarah; and three nephews and two nieces.
Forever remembered, forever missed, forever loved.
