Rita Adams was my Educational Assistant for awhile at Afton School.  She was especially comforting and nurturing toward children who needed extra love and kindness.  She valued the underdog, and made sure to give an extra ego boost to kiddos who felt left out.  Rita would say, "Chop, chop!" to get the students to hurry up with their coats and backpacks, and she secretly gave them candy to make them move more quickly.  As you can imagine, the children loved that!  I remember Rita always ate chicken noodle soup in the mornings, which I thought was a really great idea!  She would often bring us home-made sausage to try.  It was delicious!  Rita was modest and understated.  This is likely why I couldn't find any photos of her.  She liked to support, quietly, in the background (and she often ducked out of the way when the camera came out).  
My sincere condolences to the family.  Rita was a true gem.

My condolences go out to Rita’s family. She was always so positive and cheerful.  It was a joy to work with her at Afton and I’m sure she will be greatly missed by many. 💜

Rita was such an important part of our "Afton School Family" and I have such wonderful memories of her. My condolences to her family; I know she will be deeply missed.
