

Bob was born the youngest of 7 children to Arthur and Elsie Green in Brooks AB, Canada on June 19, 1929. He married Doreen Kanewischer of Medicine Hat and after a few years on the family farm they moved to Calgary where he finished his High School at Western Canada High and started a life long career with Texaco Canada.Bob took early retirement in his mid fifties and began a life of chasing hot air balloons, trail riding, wood working, gardening and ski hill hosting for tourists at Fortress Mountain.
He had passion for community and was President of the Fairview Community Association, where he spearheaded the building of the Fairview Teen Centre. Bob had four sons, Harley, Blair, Ross and Murray and is survived by the latter two. He was dedicated to seeing them play hockey and ski. Bob was also a grandfather to Clayton Achen, Jessica and Ray-Ann Spaeth and great grandfather to Benjamin and Maisie Achen; grandchildren of Tracy Achen.
Bob recently celebrated his 25th wedding anniversary to his second wife Gladys Hansen in Edmonton where they lived together after moving from Calgary in the early 2000’s
A service was held at Devonshire Retirement Home in Edmonton and a family service will be held at his son’s home in Calgary in September.
