Rodney (Rod) Leroy Throndson

January 30, 1935 – August 29, 2010

It is with great sadness that the family of Rod Throndson announce his passing on August 29, 2010 at age 75 years.

Rod will be lovingly remembered by Betty, his wife of 49 years, daughters, Shawna (Dan) Christensen, Terena (Mark) LeCorre and grandchildren Mark and Brady Christensen and Jackson LeCorre, as well as many relatives and friends.

Rod served as a teacher and school administrator for 47 years, 37 years in St. Albert, and 29 years at Robert Rundle School as principal. He served the community of St. Albert as an alderman for 18 years, the hospital board, 45 years with the Lions, the St. Albert Retired Teachers Assoc. and Public Interest Alberta supporting senior’s issues. Rod was one of a kind. He could have an engaging conversation with anyone. He loved travelling, reading and especially spending time at Lake Isle with family and friends.

A celebration of Rod’s life will be held on Friday, September 3, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Arden Theatre, 5 St. Anne Street, St. Albert.
