

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Roger Sabourin announce his passing at the age of 85. Mourning his loss is the love of his life, his wife of 62 years, Mary Ann and his five children Nicole (Norm) Opel, Greg Sabourin, Jackie Cromie, Shelley (Alan) Martell, and Valerie (Mike) Borlé; 12 grandchildren, Brittany, Natalie, Jordan, Courtney, Ross, Brayden, Adriana, Ben, Matthew, Ty, Aaron, and Teresa, along with their partners; and 12 great-grandchildren. Family was everything to Roger. He showed his love, guidance, and support to his family unfailingly throughout his life. We will cherish him for this, as well as his amazing determination and sense of humour. He was so loved and will be greatly missed.
Roger was born in Edmonton, but spent his early years on his family farm in Vimy, Alberta. After retiring from farming, he moved his family to Sturgeon County. He later resided in Morinville and most recently, St. Albert was home for many years.
Roger was predeceased by his parents, Edmond and Jeanne Sabourin; his brothers, Louis, Robert and, Maurice; brothers-in-law, Mike Hein and Victor Zadunayski. He is survived by his siblings, Albert (Shirley) Sabourin, Evelyn Hein, Denise Zadunayski, Madeline (Louis) Tieulie, Paulette (Dan) Kilfoil, and Lorraine (Claude) Cloutier; and sisters-in-law, Laurette Sabourin and Anne Anderson.
A funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 75 Poirier Ave, St. Albert, Alberta on Wednesday, February 7 at 1 p.m.
