In loving memory of Rose "Rosy" born to Arogya Swamy and Arul Mary on August 30, 1968, in Bangalore, India. She was the fifth of seven children. She earned a college degree in Arts, dedicating herself to a teaching career and eventually becoming Vice Principal. In 1990, she married the love of her life, Stephen, and they had two children, Sharoon and Solomon, who were her pride and joy.
Rose lived the first half of her life in Bangalore and the second half of her life in Edmonton, Canada where she moved with her husband and his extended family for a better life. Her gifts to the world included a warm smile, a vibrant personality, and a caring heart. She was known for her daily texting/calling loved ones, cooking multiple meals for her family, and always putting others first. Despite health complications, Rose always found the strength and will to provide and care for her family. Rose was always there to provide support during difficult moments, contributing to funerals, helping with education expenses, and easing the burden of debt for her family and friends in India. Her selflessness left a lasting impact, reflecting love and generosity. Rose's Catholic faith was a source of comfort, reflected in her prayers, fasting, and devotion to the rosary and mass attendance. She prayed for anyone whom she knew was facing hardship.
Her greatest joy came with the birth of her grandson, Ashton, in August 2023. While he spent the first two months of his life in the NICU, Rose spent her days and nights praying over him. She spent precious moments holding, cuddling, and kissing her sweet baby boy. As Ashton grew, she eagerly made plans to teach him to speak Tamil and ensure he loved Indian food.
Sadly, Rose's life was suddenly cut short, leaving us to mourn the loss of our cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunty, and friend. Her kind heart and joyous spirit will be deeply missed, but the memory of her light will always remain with us.
A visitation for Rose will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hainstock's Funeral Home & Crematorium, 9810 34th Ave, Edmonton, AB T6E6L1.
A Funeral Mass will occur Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, 7508-29 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta.
