Aunt Nellie, Linda, Gayle and families, After the tears have dried and the goodbyes have been said, all we have to hold onto are the happy memories that we've shared with our loved ones who have passed, this is what keeps them alive in our hearts and in our minds, and they will continue to live on, through us. Uncle Roy will never be forgotten, only fondly remembered!

Nellie and family,
So very sorry to hear about the loss of Roy. Growing up across the back alley, I would always see Roy out back tinkering around the garage, and it was so nice to be welcomed with a great big Hello from him!  When I was 2 or 3 years old, I locked my mom and I out of our house with no way to get back in! My dad was at work... It was Roy who rescued a very scared and upset kid by reassuring me that everything would be ok. and that it was... he got the door unlocked, and all was right again...  thank you Roy for being kind hearted and caring gentle man

May I pass on my most sincere condolences to all of you and family.
Uncle Roy was a great guy and a forceful personality that I'll miss greatly.
Some of my fondest memories of times at Jackfish Lake involve Uncle Roy.

I remember many an early morning in July where Gayle her Dad and I would be out at 5:11 AM (to 5:23 am, no Tim hortons's in the day (sigh))
But .. with Uncle Roy and an oar dipped deep into some shallow part of Jackfish Lake, .. pulling up an oar full of mud & ooze .. encased with water bugs & leeches with which we with we would then later ARM ourselves for extended encounters with assorted Jackfish lake denzions, mainly the perch, walleye & jackfish.  These were good times!

I also remember many great breakfasts ushered in with love by Aunt Nellie.

Uncle Roy was a  great guy and a real force.

I revel in the joy and opportunity to have known him.

I will always remember him fondly and see him as an enriching influence in my life,
and hopefully part of the good that I'll be able to pass along to others within my lives journey.

Please accept my sincere sympathy in the passsing of your cherished husband, dad and Gido. Through my teen years and then later as I came back to visit my parents in the house I grew up in, it was my good fortune to know him as one of our neighbourhood's very kindest neighbours; always smiling, always a big "Hello!" and always stopping anything he was doing to chat.

Nellie,  Gayle, Linda and Family.  Sorry to hear of the loss of such an incredible man.  He was truly an inspiration to all.  He will be missed greatly.   He was one of my dad's  best friends. Fantastic photos and many happy memories of a life truly well lived. Much to be proud of, remembered, and celebrated. Hard, working and very industrious, helpful to all who asked for assistance, always delivered with a twinkle in his eye and a smile. He touched many people and will be missed by all.

Linda, Gayle, Mrs. Waschuk (Even after 45 years of being part of your extended family I still can't call you Nellie), Bob, Kris, Jordan, Aspen and Sierra.  I wanted to let you know what Mr. Waschuk (Too much respect I think to call him Roy) meant in my life.  He was for you the protector, the provider and the teacher.  I had the privilege of your dad, husband and grandpa being a part of my life.  A few of the fondest memories I have of him included our trips to Vegas where he always carried all our shopping bags; he watched all us girls closely but still allowed us to explore and grow.  When Linda and I decided to go on our first road trip at age 17 to Vancouver Island he didn't stop us but insisted that I bring my 1977 Dodge Arrow over to the garage for the Mr. Waschuk seal of road worthiness approval.  For safety he also insisted that we carry a very large air horn (which if Linda will admit to, she set off in the middle of the night in our tent).  Mr. Waschuk was the reason I went to Cuba in the early 80s and found my joy in travelling. I have seen the core values and high morals that Mr. Waschuk has instilled in Linda, Gayle and his grandchildren and am lucky enough to call Linda and Gayle lifelong friends.  I promised Mr. Waschuk that I would look out for his family so that he could rest and I will make good on that promise.  It was a privilege and honor to be a small part of his life and he will be missed.

Uncle Roy had a huge impact on those all around him.  His selfless actions set a wonderful example of kindness and caring for young and old.  He was the guy who helped everyone with everything.  His friendly smile, hearty laugh, and many kindnesses will long be remembered.

Uncle Roy was a DAD to all of us cousins at Jackfish.  His sense of humor was the best, and when he was laughing, EVERYONE was laughing!  Uncle Roy's morals and values made a huge impact on all of us  He was a family man, helped out others always, and knew how to enjoy life.  You will be forever missed!

Roy was the nicest, kindness person that we have ever known and was always there to help us in every way.  The world has lost a very special man.  He will never be forgotten.
