Rudy Walter Witte

Rudolf (Rudy) Walter Witte, 82, of Edmonton passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on September 19, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer. Rudy leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Edna, his daughter Pamela, son Randy and sisters Ruth (twin), Irma and Evelyn. Also mourning his loss are his grandchildren Daniel, Erica, Abby, Liam, Alanna, Haley, Ross, Makila and Izabella along with numerous nieces and nephews. Rudy was predeceased by his son, Lesley and his brother Meinhart. Rudy enjoyed fishing, woodworking, puns and playing crib on his homemade crib boards. Rudy was gentle and kind and touched the hearts of all who knew him.

He will be dearly missed.

Rudy’s family would like to thank the nursing and medical staff at Sturgeon Community Hospital who showed compassion and love during his final days. We also would like to acknowledge the palliative care team, Pastor Kraemer and his dedication, along with the Cross Cancer Institute whose everyday kindness and concern lightened the burden for Rudy and his family.

Rudy’s memorial service will be celebrated at All Saints Lutheran Church 13850 119 A Street NW, Edmonton, AB on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 1:30 PM.
