

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Stanley Hardy. They were joined in matrimony on April 16th, 1960 in Saskatoon SK, and were married for 33 blissful years. They were true soulmates. In addition to her husband, her passing was also preceded by her mother Dorothy Tolman, her father Bud Botham and her brother Terry Botham.
Left to cherish her memories are son Barry (Janet), grandchildren Sarah, Lindsay, daughter Lorie (Rick) Findlay, grandchildren David, Brett, Steven, Kelcie (Boyko), and sister, Sandy (Art) DuLong. Also remembering her loss are two great grandchildren, numerous relatives, extended family, and friends, including her dearest friend Joan McNeil.
Ruth was extraordinarily talented, becoming notably accomplished in all of her pursuits, including needle work, cooking and crafting in many forms. She was the founder of Encore Kennels, breeding many champion Yorkshire Terriers. Ruth was proud to be owner/breeder/handler of the Top Yorkshire Terrier in Canada, “Cherokee Warrior”, at the height of her success.
A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held on March 3rd at 2pm at Hainstocks, 9810 34 Avenue, Edmonton.
Memorial donations honouring Ruth can be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society. The family would like to thank the staff at the Grey Nuns Hospital for their care and compassion in her final days.
