

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Sylvia Dinsmore, who passed away peacefully in Edmonton, Alberta on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the age of 74 years.
Sylvia leaves behind a legacy of love and strength. She is survived by her son, Allan, daughter, Lee-Ann, and her son-in-law, Allen; her cherished granddaughters, Chassidy, Kohra-Lee (Tyson), Emily, and Gracie; and her adored great-grandchildren, Harper, Brody, Faith, and Bryson. She is also survived by her partner Kaz. Siblings Brian, Esther (Steve), Susan (Lawrie), and Edward (Judy), all of Scotland, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved her dearly. Sylvia was predeceased by her parents, Esther and Edward Watt, both of Scotland.
Born on April 4, 1951, in Birmingham, England, Sylvia embodied a vibrant and courageous spirit from a young age. With her bold style, unwavering veracity, and boundless energy, she fearlessly carved out a life of her own. She made the brave journey to Canada, where she built a home, raised her children, and embraced her roles as a grandmother and great-grandmother with pride and devotion.
Sylvia will be fondly remembered for her ability to make lasting connections, and the unforgettable energy she brought into every room. Her strength, resilience, and larger-than-life personality left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
A service will be held in her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to be made to animal charity of your choice in Sylvia’s honour.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
