Terry, affectionately known as TJ, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025 at the age of 53. He was born on April 19, 1972 in St. John's, Newfoundland to Terrence and Maureen Woodford. He enjoyed a wonderful childhood in Harbour Main, spending time fishing, playing sports year-round, and hanging out at his family's restaurant, T.J's.
Terry was a devoted partner and husband to Jackie Woodford for 35 years. He was the loving father of Tyler (Brooke) and Victoria (Evan), and a proud grandfather to Vance. He is also survived by his mother, Maureen (Tom); his in-laws, Hilary and Joan Flaherty; his brothers, Scott and Shane (Meaghan); his siblings in-law, Hillary and Marty (Lisa); and his nieces and nephews, Gabriel, Stella, Lucas, Blake, Everly, and Addison. He has been reunited with his father, Terrence A. Woodford, in the afterlife.
Terry dedicated his career to being an Ironworker. As a second generation Union Ironworker, he took great pride in being a part of something bigger than himself. He later moved into management with PCL as an Ironworker Superintendent, but always remained loyal to his union background. He was a masterful tradesman and a talented manager. He was known for his strong work ethic, quick wit, and boundless generosity. In his free time, he loved to play golf, ride motorcycles, and love/hate his favourite sports teams. He always made time to lend a helping hand to friends and strangers alike. He will be dearly missed by his friends and his Ironworker family.
Terry will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. His legacy of love, laughter, and kindness lives on in everyone who knew him.
A wake will be held at Ironworkers Local 720 on November 21st from 6-9 pm (10512 122 Street NW, Edmonton, AB). Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
The funeral will take place on Saturday, November 22nd at St. Joseph’s Cathedral Basilica at 10:00 am (10044 113 Street).
