It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Troy “Max” Omilian. Troy passed away on April 26, 2022 in his sleep at home with his wife Liz after a courageous battle with kidney cancer. He was 56 years old.
Troy was born in Edmonton on December 28, 1965 to Peter Omilian who predeceased him in 2020 and Grace Omilian (née Hunka). He and Liz were married in 2000 after welcoming the greatest joy of their lives, son, Max Omilian.
Memories of Troy/Max will be cherished forever by his wife Elizabeth Omilian (née Langford), son Max Omilian, Sister Shaunna Roberts (Greg), nephews Tyler and Shane, brother-in-law Steve Langford (Erin), nieces Emily and Leah, and sister-in-law Kelly Bodnarchuk. Troy/Max will be fondly remembered by many other family members, friends, colleagues and kids he coached in football.
A memorial service with reception to follow is scheduled for Sunday, May 15th, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Hainstock’s Funeral Home and Crematorium located at 9810 – 34 Avenue, Edmonton, AB T6E 6L1.
Vaccinated guests are invited to attend the service in-person (masks encouraged). Troy wanted all guests to feel comfortable, therefore, please feel free to dress casually – he loved wearing his various team jerseys to events, so sports team jerseys are especially welcomed (except Calgary!)
Those unable to attend in-person are invited to attend via livestream by using the link:
