I worked with Vicky in the RAH emergency department for as long as I can remember...starting as far back as a resident. In fact, it honestly feels like I just worked with her! She was a great ER nurse—always calm, focussed, anticipating, efficient. The type of person, where her mere presence was like a subtle feeling of relief. She was a hard worker without making anything seem hard. I am lucky to have been able to work with Vicky! My most humble sympathies to the family.

Vicky taught me how to work hard but to love your family harder.  I know you all have a  hole in your hearts right now but I hope your happy memories of her will start to fill it.  She created so many wonderful, sweet and fun memories with her life and I pray they will comfort you during this hard time.  I know my work memories and the zany shifts we went thru together have been a blessing in my life.    Take care and God bless.

Vicky was one of my favorite coworkers ever.  A kind and gentle soul and great friend.  She was such a hard worker and always positive.  Vicky, you will be missed. Xoxoxo 

So very shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of my friend and former colleague Vicki a.k.a “Popi.” I was fortunate enough to work with Vicky at the RAH ED for many years. I started in the ER as a brand new graduate and she promptly took me under her wing. She mentored and taught me so much....much more than nursing and she always had my back! She was an excellent RN. We shared many busy shifts, pot lucks and giggles. I always admired and looked up to her. I will miss her greatly. My deepest condolences to her family during this difficult time. Rest In Peace  “Popi.” 

My deepest condolences to the Popioco family.  It was a privilege to have worked with Vicki.  I started in the ER with her in 2007.  She was a mentor.  I learned a lot from her.  She was extremely hardworking, gentle and kind.  Rest easy my friend.  

I was very fortunate to have worked with Vicky at the Alec ED.  She was a great nurse, who always worked hard, without complaint.  As a person, she was always happy and radiated calm throughout the ED.  I am so sorry for her family's loss.  

I worked for many years with Vicki  at the RAH ER  and she was always lots of fun to be on shift with . She was a very hard worker , never complained and an excellent nurse . She always had a smile and a laugh and made the work much nicer and easier. My condolences to all her family . 

I too spent many years working with Vicky. 
She exemplified what a nurse is. Her caring and compassion towards her patients and colleagues will never be forgotten.

I worked with Vicky for many years at the Royal Alex ER as both a coworker and a manager. Vicky was the “dream” employee... she was kind, hardworking  and never complained . Vicky will be missed by all who knew and loved her. RIP

I am sad to hear of Vicky’s passing. We worked together in the Alex ER. Vicky was kind to everyone and was a great example to us all! She was a hard worker who never complained. We had lots of good laughs together, too. Thank you, Vicky, for so many great memories! 


I worked with Vicki for all of my years in Emergency. One of the hardest working, kindest soul . I am so sad to hear of her passing . She always made me laugh and had the biggest, beautiful smile. She was an absolute treasure. My sincere condolences to all of her family and friends.

I am so saddened to hear of Vicky's passing. I worked with Vicky in the Emergency for many years first in the Charles Camsell and then the RAH. We worked through many horrible shifts together. Vicky's calm and easygoing manner always helped to make my life easier. I have lots of fond memories of Vicky.

I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of Vicky. I worked with her at the RAH ER and she was an amazing nurse. She was a hard worker who  could run circles around anyone. I remember her as always having a smile on her face that would brighten my day.  My love and condolences to her family.

I had the privilege of working along side Vicky at the RAH ER. Vicky made nursing look easy. She was a great mentor, never complained, served with humility, and a devoted  worker.  She often came to the rescue for those difficult IV pokes and graciously,  showed me her tricks. You can always count on Vicky’s judgement and nothing seemed to phase her. It was an honour to work alongside you, Vicky.
