Barbara (Curtis) Hiltscher, 94, of El Cajon, California, passed away peacefully at home on January 17, 2024.
Born in Los Angeles, California, on April 27, 1929, Barbara attended Whittier College, where she met her husband of 58 years, Alan. After graduation, they began their careers in teaching on the Hoopa Indian Reservation. The years they spent in that remote area of California were described as an extended honeymoon.
They enjoyed camping, traveling, and spending time at their place in Mexico.
Barbara was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her warmth and generosity will be missed by all who knew her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Alan. She is survived by her children, Linda Kosta (George), Brett Hiltscher (Lilly), Matthew Hiltscher, her five grandchildren: Carrie, Cruz, Joshua, Kelly, and Brett Jr., and 12 great-grandchildren.
