I miss you, mom.  You are my hero and my role model.  I strive to be the wife and mother that you were.  I never doubted your unconditional love and support.  I felt your love for me in the way you experienced my emotions right along with me.  You were genuinely happy for me when I was happy, and I knew you hurt too, when I hurt.  

I can’t begin to describe the love and pride that emanated from you when it comes to your grand-daughters. Lindsay considers you her best friend.  I feel so blessed for the relationship you two shared.  

You always carried yourself with such grace, dignity and humility.  Your kind and generous heart knew no bounds.  You welcomed all into your home, you never passed judgement and you held faith and family as the highest priorities.  You are my hero and my greatest role model.  I love you, mom.


You were my best friend, the love of my life, I so proudly called my wife. Though we were born and raised over 7,000 miles apart we shared many of the same values that shaped our lives and ensured our happiness. I fell in love with you almost immediately and I will continue to love you forever. I always thought you were beautiful inside and out. I am extremely blessed to have raised a wonderful family with you. You were always the glue that held us together and the steady rudder that kept us on course. If there was ever a perfect Navy wife, it was you. During my Navy years, you persevered during my deployments and distant assignments taking care of the kids and making sure I did not have to worry. Your unwavering support was especially important to my career. You deserved much more credit than you ever received. I have always admired your inner strength and devotion to faith. I know that it has carried you and our family through difficult times. I am thankful to you for your gentle but steady hands that were so instrumental in guiding Robert and Katrina as they developed into loving, caring adults. Robert’s marriage to Maribel and Katrina’s marriage to Chris have blessed us with three beautiful granddaughters, Victoria, Lindsay, and Isabella who reflect your loving influence. I truly admired you as a mother and grandmother. I will always cherish the memories we made over the years. I loved the spontaneous weekend trips, the planned vacations, family dinners and gatherings or just getting out of the house and most of all just being together with you. I will always miss you completing my sentences before I finished them and me doing the same for you. I will always miss holding you in my arms or just holding your hand. My heart aches terribly, but I take comfort in knowing you are soaring with the angels and are with loved ones. I am deeply honored and blessed to have loved and been loved by you in my life on this earth. I love you Sweetheart!




My beautiful Auntie Benit! Where do I start? Thank you so much for being my second mother growing up. You took care of me, babysat me and took me places. Whenever my mom would drop me off on Friday nights you always greeted me with that warm smile. Most of the time it was because you found a bird feather and wanted me to tickle your ears. Then there were times you would pick me up and take me to the Del Mar Fair and it was just the two of us. You bought me food and tickets to the rides and play the carnival games. We can't forget when you took Tina and me to Orange County so we could see the Paula Abdul concert and there was that big earthquake the night before. There are too many stories to write down here!
I'm still in shock that you aren't here with us. I miss you so much, but I'm at peace knowing that you are in no pain, spreading your wings and watching us from above. Grandma, grandpa, Auntie Rose, Uncle Junior and Danny were so happy to see you again, I'm sure. This isn't goodbye...it's until we meet again! Hu guiya hao! Esta man ali'i ta'lo!


To my loving Sister Bernie, have I ever told you how much I admire you?
Your courage, fearlessness, determination and ability to overcome and be successful in everything you do are just a few of your many qualities.
Your sense of humor and contagious giggle can start us all off
with uncontrollable laughter.
One of my fondest memories is Pop scolding us in Church because we couldn’t stop laughing. 
San Diego is home to our families because you and Lynn opened your home and hearts to us.  You supported us until we were able to be on our own .
We can never repay you both for your love, support and kindness.
If there ever was a role model to aspire to, you are it, Bernie Reed!
Through all these years of your many illnesses you never
complained, whined, asked why, or sought pity from anyone.
You accepted God’s many challenges with grace, dignity,
and class. Your strong faith in our Lord is an inspiration to us all.
Thank you from all your brothers and sisters for your unwavering love and support. You are our hero and we will miss you forever until all eight of your siblings can join you in Heaven.
