

Bonnie Jo Hogan Gonzalez, age 63, formerly of Santee, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2016. Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on November 23, 1953, she moved to California in 1957. She was a graduate of Mount Miguel High School in 1972 and received her Medical Assistant Certification from Maric College of Medical Careers, San Diego, California in 1994. Bonnie was an active member of St. Columba Episcopal Church of Santee. She spent 2 years in the Airforce as an aircraft mechanic, from 1975-1977, and then worked for various industries including General Dynamics and in the medical field until being disabled by Poly-cystic Kidney Disease (PKD) in 1999. Her strength and love for those around her will be remembered by all. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her parents Patrick Dennis and Donna Rae (Boyd) Hogan, and her brother Dennis (Jim) James Hogan. She is survived by her brother Richard (Dick) Hogan and his wife Kathy, son Douglas (Doug) and his wife Cristina, her son Jeremy and his wife Melody, and her grandchildren Jasmine, Ayanna, De’Ontay, Izaiah, Vanessa, Anthony, Alexis, Ysabella (Bella), Douglas Jr. (Dougie), Caleb, Eliana, and Julia, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bonnie’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 17th at 11 AM at St. Columba Episcopal Church, 9720 Cuyamaca St, Santee, CA 92071, with Pastor Rick Showalter officiating. There will be a reception to follow at the church. If desired, friends may make memorial contributions to the PKD Foundation by mailing donations in her name to PO Box 871847, Kansas City, MO 64187-1847.
