Howard Horace Hudson

Born October 21, 1938 in Lunenburg County, VA to parents Dabney and Grace Hudson the

youngest of 13 siblings.

Died October 25, 2021 peacefully, comforted and surrounded by loved ones, in his home in

Santee.

Survived by the love of his life and wife of 60 years, Marge; 4 beautiful daughters and their partners: Cathy & Eric, Sheri and John, Lori and John, and Sandi and Jen; 6 loving, kindhearted and devoted grandchildren: Brooke, Halle, Gabi Taylor, Jake and Sierra; 2 bonus grandchildren: Stephanie and Bryan; 1 precious bonus great- granddaughter Evie; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Howard, most commonly referred to as “Gramps”, absolutely loved being a grandpa. How he lived his life – always helping others, working hard, and the love he exuded for his family and friends shaped each one of his grandchildren as they grew up.

Howard served 20 years in the US Navy, spending deployments in Hawaii, Ridgecrest CA, Okinawa, Lemoore CA, and San Diego. He also served two tours in Vietnam, one year as a proud member of the HAL3 Seawolves in Binh Thuy.

During retirement Howard enjoyed traveling the country with Marge in their RV, fishing and remodeling/repairing anything for anyone.

Most of all, Howard enjoyed spending time with family as well as tinkering with the Cardoza crew and happy hour with friends! It’s these precious memories that will keep his spirit alive in our hearts forever.
