James Hervey Bachman

James Hervey Bachman, age 69 passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022 due to complications from a life long heart and lung disorder and condition. He had the best doctors who gave him to us for many years inspite of his illness. Thanks to Dr. Pokala, Dr. Gollapudi, Dr Narula, Dr. Hourani, Dr. Dysart and many other doctors, staff, and specialists at Grossmont hospital.

Jim passed away on Dec 26th at 6:40 a.m. 2022. We had the best ever Christmas. He was a wise, kind, witty, and honest soul. He had the heart and courage of a Lion. He was a gentle Lion and sage. He leaves behind his beloved wife Janie Bachman, his sister Linda Dockins and husband Mike, his niece Layne Karafantis, his stepsons Joshua Lopez, Paul Lopez and wife Jessica Hrebin, Jon-michael Lopez and fiance' Melanie Torres, grandson Hazyn Lopez, and his best friend Mike Lennox, (who was like a brother), and Mike's wife Meg. He was a painter by trade and worked at Southwestern College for about 25 years. He served as CSEA union president for many years. Some called him "The Preacher." He was a rare and unique individual and will be deeply and profoundly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
