Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.elcajonmortuary.com for the MATTAR family.LeRoy Peter Mattar, also known to many as Lee, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021, he was 83. Lee left behind his dearly beloved wife, Doris, his daughter Lee Ann, son Daniel his four grandchildren, Ashlee, Andrew, Anthony and Mia and his older brother Paul.
Lee was a very successful busines man who owned many properties around Lemon Grove, one in particular, Lee’s Automotive, which he owned and ran for over 60 years and was a member of the Lemon Grove historical society.
Lee acquired property in Boulevard, CA, which he spent many years grooming and maintaining. The property was and always will be known as the “Ranch”, which he enjoyed with his family and friends for many years. Many memories are shared and great moments along with fun stories will always live on along with Lee.
For Lee, his greatest accomplishment was the amusement park he built for his grandchildren on the “Ranch”. He designed and built his own rides, including a ferris wheel, a 40ft rocket, a race car ride and a aeroplane ride, among others. His favorite thing ever was to watch all the kids enjoy the rides. He loved knowing that anyone who came to the “Ranch” enjoyed it. He worked hard and tirelessly, making sure that everything was taken care and made sure that the lawn was mowed and the sprinklers worked, which he won’t miss fixing,or having to turn them off when visitors arrive for the weekend. His life revolved around the “Ranch” and anyone who saw him there, knew he loved being there.
The family will be having a memorial at the “Ranch” at a later date. Family and friends will be notified.
