Dear Nina and Family ~ 

My memories of Mike cannot be complete without remembering how much he loved his family; they were GOLD to him.  To you Nina, Jessica, Tracy, Scott, Connor and all the other family members I send you love and prayers.  As we all grieve with you, your grief will be greater but with that grief know that you are held up to the Lord for His strength which he freely gives.  Draw close to Him in your saddest times and let Him dry your tears and bring loving memories of Mike to your mind.

Memories of MICHAEL PALERMO	

It's hard to think of him as Michael, which seems more formal than Mike ever was and as Mike I have great memories.  I will remember Mike as a loving brother in the Lord, as a helpful friend, as a true teacher, as a kind leader, as a faithful servant of God, as an authentic preacher and as a devoted pastor.  

And he was HUMBLE!  He would not have found any joy in hearing these praises about himself nor the ones that others will use to describe how we felt about him and how much we will miss him.  That is an example of his humbleness.  

In my mind I can compare Brother Mike to Elisha.  When Elijah threw his mantle upon Elisha he was just going about his daily business working in the fields not seeking glory not expecting more but when the mantle was thrown upon him he took it and did exactly what God called him to do without complaining.  In my memories of Brother Mike that is exactly what he did, he followed Christ and did not sit in the pew seeking promotion but was content with how he was serving the Lord; he didn’t think I could do that, I could be the preacher, I could be the pastor. He was a humble servant he knew he was in God’s will doing what God wanted him to do.  And then when God had more for him and called him, Mike followed and then he led, he led us, his congregation and he never led us astray which is another of the great things I will remember about Mike, my pastor, he was true to God’s word. 

A most precious memory of Brother Mike will always be when he would have us stand at the closing of our services to receive this blessing from the Lord: 

Numbers 6:24-26
The Lord bless thee and keep thee: the Lord make His face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
